Drawing Classes from Live Animals

I organise and teach art classes where animals are the life models, often on farms or with owls in museums and at science festivals.

Sketching wildlife from life is a unique and richly rewarding experience. It is also a highly challenging experience; at times you only have a matter of seconds to capture the gesture of the animal in movement. Drawing wildlife is a different kind of life drawing, you can’t ask animals to stand still and you are set at the mercy of their movements. But it allows the sketcher to share an experience with a wild animal and capture something of its spirit.

Social Sketching Sessions

Sketching Wild!

This group is for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of sketching the natural world. Based in SW London, I often run drawing sessions in parks and zoos for all ages. If you are enthusiastic about wildlife and the natural world and want to meet other like-minded people, you are welcome to join to keep abreast of upcoming events.

Specimen Drawing

Tim is on the panels of judges for the Nancy Rothwell Award which celebrates specimen drawing in schools and highlights the benefits of combining art and science.
